Partners in PROMISE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of military children in special education and the military's Exceptional Family Member Program.

Jennifer Barnhill is the Chief Operating Officer and Lead Researcher for Partners in PROMISE. In addition to her role at Partners in PROMISE, Jennifer is a freelance reporter and researcher who writes a monthly column covering military family policy issues for military.com.

Michelle Norman is the founder and Executive Director for PIP. She is a Navy spouse of over 25 years and mother of a 18-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy and many other medical diagnoses. After years of successfully advocating and winning multiple legal cases to ensure her daughter receives the minimum education required by law, Michelle observed that military children with special needs and their families were in need of an advocate. She founded PIP along with four other military mothers to help close this gap.

Self-Care: Michelle suggests taking respite care if it's available to you. Go to Target in your PJs and wander the aisles. Go on date nights. Take time for yourself. Jennifer suggests taking time away from your spouse for things you love. She also uses habit stacking to build routines that fill her cup all day long.

Family Fun: Michelle's family loves watching TV shows together, eating dinner most nights, and taking family vacations. Jeniffer's family enjoys cheering on each other in baseball and softball games. Go team!
